We're looking for a passionate Software Engineer (Backend/Multiplayer networking) to join the games engineering team Iron Mountain Interactive in Vienna, Austria full-time.
You'll be responsible for creating, fixing, maintaining and optimizing new and existing server and database features by delivering well-structured, test-driven code. You should have a robust knowledge of latest Amazon Web Services game cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Gamelift, etc.) and be comfortable with feature ownership creating, fixing, maintaining and optimizing new and existing server and database features by delivering well-structured, test-driven code
Together with our technical and production leads, you’ll use core AWS technologies to design and build available, scalable, and secure backend services and customer-facing APIs for our online multiplayer games. You’ll be working in a highly iterative-driven game development production house, and should be comfortable with product ownership responsibility with a focus on improving the player experience with every new feature and optimization you work on.
Requirements and Qualifications:
At least 3+ years of commercial experience in the games industry or in a similar role.
Networking experience in TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Architecture (cloud, client / server) experience
Experience with RESTful API development
Knowledge of network and server security issues
Exceptional time management and communication skills, with a strong interest in mentoring other developers
Experience working with Unity
Experience in developing AAA game titles for PC, Console and Mobile platforms.

We will support the right candidate within the European Union with relocation to Vienna, Austria.
Austrian employment law requires we list the legal minimum wage for any advertised position. For this position, the minimum monthly full-time salary would be gross €2,979 per month, 14 times per year (IT Collective Agreement 2019, Regelstufe ST1). The actual salary and benefits package will depend on your qualifications and experience.
